Pool Rules for Recreational Swimmers
Thanks for choosing the ATC aquatic therapy program as your dog’s fun and fitness destination. Please observe the following rules to keep all visitors safe and healthy:
- Proof of rabies vaccination is required. Vaccination against bordatella (Kennel Cough) and canine influenza is strongly recommended.
- Your dog should be clean; please brush free of loose hair before coming.
- Please do not feed your dog for 3 hours prior to swimming.
- PLEASE potty your dog outside on arrival!!!!
- Keep your dog on a leash – NO FLEXI LEADS PLEASE – until in the pool area.
- We provide towels; however, you may wish to bring your own for the ride home.
- Although chemicals in our pool are minimal (we use bromine, not chlorine), if you would like your dog rinsed off following water exercise please advise the staff.
- No females in heat in the water.
- Please advise our staff promptly if your dog “does not play well with others”.
- If there is a dog in the pool or treadmill, please wait in the lobby.
- You may accompany your dog into the pool area (only ATC staff in the water please); be advised the room is quite warm, and watch for slippery spots on the floor. Please wear non-slip shoes.
- No children under 7 years old allowed in the pool room please.
- Sessions are limited to 25 minutes in the water. Actual swimming time will depend on dog’s fitness level (to be judged by the swim assistant).
- ATC staff may at their sole discretion decline to swim any dog that is ill, unfit, injured, debilitated or excessively fearful.
